Bangladesh announces squad for first two ODIS against Australia; Mosaddek Hossain returns after 4 years

Bangladesh is all set to host Australia for a multi-format series this month, starting on June 9 through a 3-match ODI series. The host nation announced its squad for the opening two matches of the series on the evening of June 3.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) retains most of its players from the previous ODI series, which was against New Zealand. Bangladesh defeated the Blackcaps by 2-1 in the contest.

For the first two ODIs against Australia, BCB has named Mehidy Hasan Miraz as their captain. Following the ODI series, Bangladesh will also play three T20Is against Australia starting June 17. The ODI series will start on June 9, following the second match on June 11, and the 3rd and final match of the contest will be on June 14. All of the three ODIs will be hosted in Dhaka.

After the inclusion of the ODI series, Bangladesh and Australia will face each other for a three-match T20I competition, which will be held from June 17 to June 21 in Chattogram.

Second ODI: June 11, Dhaka
Third ODI: June 14, Dhaka
