Initially known as the T20 Cup when it was introduced in 2003, the tournament now goes by the T20 Blast. Only two batters have finished a season of the competition as the leading run-scorer more than once. One of them has done it twice - in 2008 and 2017 - while the other has done it thrice - 2015, 2022, and 2023.

Australians and Englishmen dominate the list, though a Pakistani batter also makes an appearance.

Overall, there have been 63 instances of batters scoring 500 or more runs in a T20 Blast season, but only 15 of those have ended up as the season's top run-scorer. The lowest aggregate that has led to a batter finishing a T20 Blast season as the highest run-getter is 301, in the very first year of the competition.

More than 600 runs in a season have been scored 13 times, while the 700-mark has been breached only once - in 2015.
