Wiaan Mulder produced a brilliant all-round performance at the Wanderers this week that will be spoken about in domestic circles for years.

The Proteas all-rounder dismantled the KZN Inland Tuskers with extraordinary figures of 7-6 in just 6.5 overs in their first innings, ripping through the batting line-up with precision and control. In the space of 41 deliveries, Mulder turned the contest into a mismatch as the visitors were dismissed for 63.

It was the best innings return of his first-class career and a reminder of just how destructive he can be with the ball when conditions offer even a hint of assistance.

But Mulder wasn’t done. In the Central Gauteng Lions’ reply, he showcased the other side of his game, striking a commanding 115 off 111 balls – his 15th first-class century. Reaching three figures in just 102 deliveries, he blended composure with calculated aggression, ensuring his side tightened their grip on the match.

Mulder then claimed 5-39 in the second innings, completing a 12-wicket haul as the Lions won by an innings and 270 runs to book their place in the 4-Day Series final.
