Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is the best player I've seen: Jos Buttler praises RR wonderboy
IPL 2026: GT star batter Jos Buttler heaped praise on 15-year-old RR wonderkid Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in a viral moment. The England star backed the youngster to dominate world cricket in the years ahead.
Jos Buttler had high praise for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ahead of the IPL 2026 clash between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals, calling the 15-year-old one of the most exciting young talents he has seen. The interaction, captured in a video shared by Rajasthan Royals, quickly went viral on social media.
The candid moment took place during training at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where Buttler was seen chatting with Sooryavanshi alongside team manager Romy Bhinder. Speaking in the video, Buttler shared a chat with Vaibhav and told him how he was left impressed by the youngster’s fearless approach and recent performances.

“He’s the best player I’ve seen,” Buttler said.
“Imagine when he’s 21 or 25, the world at his feet,” he added, recalling Sooryavanshi’s stunning 175 off just 80 balls against England in the 2026 U19 World Cup.
The praise comes on the back of a rapid rise for Sooryavanshi, who has already made a strong impression in both youth cricket and the IPL. His ability to dominate attacks at such a young age has drawn attention from across the cricketing world.
WHAT IS SOORYAVANSHI LOOKING FORWARD TO?
He carried that form into IPL 2026 as well, smashing a blistering 52 off just 17 balls against Chennai Super Kings in Guwahati. Already the youngest centurion in IPL history and the owner of one of the fastest hundreds in the tournament, Sooryavanshi continues to build a reputation as a generational talent.
During the interaction, Bhinder revealed that the teenager harbours ambitions of building a trophy-laden career similar to Buttler’s.
For Rajasthan, that belief is already translating into performances, with the youngster showing both confidence and composure beyond his years.
Meanwhile, Buttler himself will be looking to rediscover his rhythm in IPL 2026 after a quiet start to the season, having scored 38 off 33 balls in Gujarat’s opening defeat to Punjab Kings. As the two sides prepare to meet in Ahmedabad, the spotlight will not just be on established stars, but also on a rising name who seems ready to take the next big step.
