In a thrilling contest between the Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals, the visiting franchise secured a 6-run win at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Ravi Bishnoi bowled a match-winning spell as Rajasthan Royals defeated the Gujarat Titans by 6 runs in their second match of the Indian Premier League 2026. Chasing 211 runs, GT were 107 for 1 at one stage, but the dismissal of Sai Sudharsan in the 11th over started the batting collapse. Sudharsan amassed 73 runs off 44 balls, laced with 9 fours and 3 sixes. Jos Buttler was the other batter, who showed his class, but he couldn't carry on. The right-handed batter accumulated 26 runs in 14 balls, including 5 boundaries.
However, Rashid Khan and Kagiso Rabada took the game close, but the departure of the former gave RR a close victory. In the 19th over, Jofra Archer gave away just 4 runs. Gujarat needed 11 runs from the last 6 balls, but Tushar Deshpande conceded just 4 runs and took 1 wicket. Bishnoi picked 4 wickets.
Rashid managed 24 runs in 16 balls while the South Africa seamer scored an unbeaten 23.
Earlier, RR captain Riyan Parag won the toss and elected to bat first, a decision that surprised many.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi gave a flying start to the franchise, adding 70 runs in 6.2 overs.
Jaiswal accumulated 55 runs off 36 deliveries, laced with 6 boundaries and 3 maximums. On the other hand, the 15-year-old Sooryavanshi posted 31 runs in 18 deliveries. He smashed 5 fours and a six. The real push came from the wicket-keeper batter, who contributed 75 runs off 42 balls. The young batter hit 5 fours and as many sixes.
