Bourne Cricket Week swings back into action today (Monday) with 15 fantastic games of six-a-side action against a backdrop of four day matches.

The cricketing extravaganza begins with Bourne's senior sides taking on the Forty Club at 11am today (Monday) with further games against Cricket World, CAMRA and the Motley Crew on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with the annual Kidz Blast also taking place from 4pm on Wednesday

The six-a-side competition will see 12 local businesses and clubs fight it out for the famous Hodgkinson Cup from 6pm every night at the Abbey Lawn with last year's champions The Bertie Arms, Travis Perkins, Bourne Skip Hire, James Cottam Flooring, Bourne Cricket Colts, Kookaburra Cricket, The Bentley Builders, Origin Storage, Intone Design, The Five Bells, The Motley Crew and Heritage Masonry Contracts all in the running.

Tournament organiser Harry Bower said: "Every year this tournament seems to grow bigger and better.

"Bourne is fortunate to have a community that get behinds local events and we're really glad to be able to put on a spectacle of high quality and enjoyable cricket for them each year."

Off the pitch, the club will have a large selection of real ale on offer alongside a nightly barbecue, raffle of prizes kindly donated by local businesses and DJ Dotty performing from 9-11pm on the Friday.
