Polk State Softball Partners with The Spring Games for Exciting Fall Tournament
POLK COUNTY, Fla. – In a thrilling collaboration, Polk State Softball has teamed up with The Spring Games (TSG), the premier global softball event, to organize a dynamic multi-division fall tournament at Winter Haven DiamondPlex.
Exciting New Partnership
Scheduled to take place on October 26 and 27, the inaugural “Polk State Fall Softball Showcase” will showcase junior college programs alongside 16U and 18U travel teams.
Coach Lewis Shares Enthusiasm
Kevin Lewis, Head Coach of Polk State, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “Partnering with the esteemed organization of TSG presents an amazing opportunity for us. We take pride in our college, facilities, and weather, and we are eager to demonstrate all that we have to offer.”
Supporting Female Athletes
The event's primary goal is to provide a competitive platform for female athletes while fostering connections among coaches, fans, players, and the local community. Additionally, it aims to support nonprofits with a shared mission of advancing opportunities for women in sports.
Exciting Tournament Format
The tournament will consist of a two-day situational showcase, ensuring that each participating team plays a minimum of four games. The victors from each bracket will face off against a junior college team for the championship title.
Opportunities for Participation
Teams can secure a spot in the tournament by paying a fee of $950 per team. Polk State and TSG are targeting 18 teams for the event. Interested parties can contact Coach Lewis at kllewis@polk.edu for registration and further details.
Showcase Event
Coach Lewis emphasized that the tournament is more than just a competition; it is a platform for travel ball players to test their skills against collegiate athletes and attract the attention of college recruiters. This presents a unique chance for exposure and experience against top-tier competition in the sunny locale of Florida.
