During the club's Annual General Meeting (AGM) earlier this month, chairman Jonathan Moses announced that they are in a position to begin phase one of the project 'almost immediately'.

This comes on the back of an 'ambitious' improvement plan revealed by the club, which is aimed at 'modernising' the site, creating new revenue streams, and positioning the club as the 'go-to venue' for sports viewing, hospitality, and functions.

A spokesperson said: "Thanks to successfully securing £46,000 in grant funding, we can finally replace the flat roof over the bar area.

"While the roof is off, we will also remove and alter several internal walls, which will dramatically improve the layout and flow of the bar."

Later phases of the development remain at an ideas stage, with planning permission being sought for certain improvements.

"Alongside this, we will be able to fully renovate the bar area during the same period," the spokesperson added.

"These improvements will create additional income streams, helping to generate further revenue and enabling us to push forward with the next phases of our development plan."

The wider proposals, which are yet to be confirmed, include the construction of three or four one-bedroom apartments on unused land behind the clubhouse, as well as a new hot food and drink outlet.

The improvement plan details hopes for the extension of the clubhouse patio to create a 'larger, modern' outdoor space, the installation of full-height glazing to 'increase natural light and visibility', and the enhancement of players’ facilities through an extended balcony.

The potential upgrades are designed to improve the experience for players, spectators and visitors while creating new revenue streams to support the club’s financial future.
