Barcombe lose by 8 wickets.

On yet another glorious Saturday at the BRG, Ollie Allsobrook won the toss and elected to bat first. He strode to the crease confidently alongside Duncan Johanson but was swiftly returning having been removed for a duck that keeps him at the top of the prestigious duck cup list. Johanson remained and first alongside John Coppard and then Harry Austin started to build a foundation for the lower order to attack from. Johanson fell and the baton was picked up by Dan Weisner - ably supported by Jack Allsobrook, Jack's dad and Monty Clarke as Barcombe eyed the 240 mark. Unfortunately, the full on assault never came and the innings closed on 200 - Weisner finally securing a half-century to finish on 63 not out.

Barcombe's bowlers started well - picking up an early wicket and keeping a lid on the scoring rate - but all the while Chiddingly kept wickets in hand Barcombe knew it would be tough to keep stemming the flow. Andy Allsobrook, Kevin Goldsmith and Coppard bowled well - using all of their combined years of experience but it was Harry Austin who made the important break through thanks to some quick thinking from the skipper behind the stumps to whip off the bails and claim the stumping.

That was the final moment of joy for Barcombe as Chiddingly got home with overs to spare. Another 40 runs would have made the game beautifully balanced and the team will hope to secure the victory next time out against TW Super Kings.
