Patrick Connors (U70kg) powered this way through 9 gruelling toe-to-toe rounds to win his title. He started off with a scrappy bout against Kal’el McKinley from Ashfield School of Boxing which he won by unanimous points decision.

He was much better the following day against a more skilled fighter in Yaqob Gallimore From Finchley ABC, but he again won unanimously.

And the best was saved for last as Rueben Whittingham from Swinton ABC was despatched after a terrific fight. It was toe-to-toe in the first round and pretty even before the Top Yard lad went through his gears, outworking and out-boxing his opponent to gain a third points win.

Jerry-Mike Connors (U62.5kg) beat Danny Smith from Swinton ABC in his final. Connors was giving away plenty of height, but he stayed disciplined and stepped it up in the second half of the fight to land great head and body shots to claim a convincing points win.

Dan Connors (U38kg) dominated all three rounds of his final against Lucas McGhee from Bateson Boxing Academy.

Arif also went straight into a tough final against Brayden Dyer, a 4-time national champion and England international. But the local scrapper took the first round before the hot favourite came through to win rounds 2 and 3. It was still a very encouraging display from Arif.

Top Yard have fighters at the Bolton Box Cup this weekend and then at the elite Haringey Box Cup the weekend after.
