Colombo, February 14: A high-stakes T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan is set to take place at the R. Premadasa Stadium this Sunday. Fans are eagerly anticipating the showdown, but rain poses a potential disruption.

Weather forecasts indicate a 76% chance of rain in Colombo on Sunday. However, as evening approaches, cloud cover is expected to reach 100%, reducing the likelihood of rain to just 13%.

In T20 World Cup history, India and Pakistan have faced each other eight times, with India holding a significant advantage. The Men in Blue have won seven of these encounters, while Pakistan’s sole victory came in 2021. Since 2009, India has played 15 T20 matches at R. Premadasa Stadium, winning 11 and losing only four.

Currently, India tops Group A after winning both of its initial matches. The team secured a 29-run victory against the USA and followed it up with a commanding 93-run win over Namibia.

On the other hand, Pakistan sits in second place in Group A but has lost both of its opening games. They won their first match against the Netherlands by three wickets but fell to the USA by 32 runs in their second outing.

Following the match against Pakistan, India will face the Netherlands on February 18, while Pakistan will take on Namibia on the same day.
