Chantelle Cameron believes she would have knocked-out Katie Taylor had their fights been contested under three minute rounds rather than two minutes.

The Northampton native handed Taylor the only defeat of her career in May 2023, with Taylor edging a decision six months later at the 3Arena as she avenged the loss.

Cameron remains the only woman to have beaten Taylor in the professional ranks, and she is adamant that the Bray Bomber got off lightly in both of their fights.

"Katie Taylor was hanging on to me for dear life with two-minute rounds. With three-minute rounds I would have got her out of there," Cameron said.

"I've always wanted it [to do threes]. I feel it plays in my favour. I feel like it's definitely going to benefit me."

Cameron's comments come in the wake of an announcement that revealed that she would be competing under 10 x 3 minute rules when she takes on Michaela Kotaskova for the WBO super-welterweight title at London's Olympia on April 5th.

Her promoter, Nakisa Bidarian of Most Valuable Promotions, said: "I wish Katie would fight her. I don't think Katie wants that type of fight at this stage of her career and I can't blame Katie by the way.

"Katie's had a phenomenal boxing run and she deserves to do what she wants to do as she closes out her career."

Cameron has been campaigning for a third bout with Taylor ever since their second contest in 2023, but Taylor has opted to face different challenges instead, twice beating Amanda Serrano in dramatic fashion.

As for what comes next for Taylor, the 2012 Olympic champion remains hellbent on fighting at Croke Park to end her career.

"I'd love to end my career here in Ireland. I'd love to have my final fight here," Taylor said last month.

"This will probably be my last year in the ring I'd say and I'd love to end my career here in Ireland.

"Croke Park is looking very nice today isn't it? So please make it happen. I want to end my career here."
