Australian all-rounder Liam Scott joins Gloucestershire
Gloucestershire has signed the rising talent for the entire 2026 Vitality Blast campaign and two County Championship away matches.
Scott is seen as a promising prospect in Australian cricket, having progressed through the South Australia and Adelaide Strikers systems.
He made his Big Bash debut just after turning 20.
Liam Scott said: "I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Gloucestershire for the 2026 season.
"The opportunity to play for the full T20 Blast season, as well as two Championship games, is one that I grabbed.
"The club has a rich history of quality Australian overseas players, and I am very much hoping to add to that and help bring success to the club.
"I can’t wait to meet my teammates, coaches and the fans, and show everyone what I can offer."
Scott impressed earlier this year in the Big Bash League, smashing a career-best 67 off 43 balls against the Perth Scorchers, including five sixes.
He joins fellow Adelaide Strikers player D’Arcy Short, who has already been confirmed to return to Gloucestershire in 2026.
In red-ball cricket, Scott recently hit a match-winning 147 for South Australia in the Sheffield Shield and has taken 12 wickets in five matches this season.
He has also featured for Australia A and notched a lively 73 from 64 balls during an unofficial ODI series against India in Kanpur.
Jon Lewis, director of cricket at Gloucestershire, said: "Liam is an exciting young all-rounder from South Australia who plays for the Strikers in the Big Bash.
"He’s a cricketer whose stock is on the rise and is highly regarded across Australia.
"We’ve done extensive research into the best young all-rounders available, and adding a third overseas player with a different skillset will help balance our T20 squad throughout the tournament."
He said: "We’re really excited to welcome him over.
"We’ve heard so many positive things and look forward to seeing him join the group."
