WATCH: Mohsin Naqvi ignored by India as PCB Chief joins Pakistan’s U19 Asia Cup celebration
During the U19 Asia Cup final post-match ceremony, India chose to ignore Mohsin Naqvi entirely, while the PCB chairman presented the trophy to Pakistan and joined the team in celebrating their victory on Sunday, November 21.
Pakistan Cricket Board chairman and Asian Cricket Council chief Mohsin Naqvi was overlooked by India following the U19 Asia Cup final on Sunday, December 21. Naqvi presented the trophy to Pakistan after their victory over India and later joined the team and support staff for celebratory photos.
Pakistan dominated the final, posting 347 runs in their innings, powered by Sameer Minhas’ brilliant 172. India started their chase strongly with Vaibhav Suryavanshi leading the attack, but the innings quickly collapsed. The Indian batters struggled under the pressure of the final, with Suryavanshi also having a disappointing outing.
India eventually collapsed for 156, giving Pakistan a 191-run victory to claim the U19 Asia Cup title. Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Dubai while the final was still underway and joined the officials for the trophy presentation. The Indian team chose not to stand alongside Naqvi, instead receiving their medals from a different official away from where the PCB chief was positioned.
Mohsin Naqvi presented the winners’ medals to the Pakistan players and handed the trophy to captain Farhan Yousaf. He was then seen joining the team and management in celebrating the historic victory and posing for photographs with them.

Naqvi has remained in the spotlight during continental tournaments following the controversy after the senior men’s Asia Cup final between India and Pakistan. Indian players had refused to accept the trophy from the ACC chief, forcing Naqvi to personally hand over the title to the winners.
The dispute over Asia Cup protocol continues, while Naqvi went on to present the Rising Stars Asia Cup and U19 Asia Cup trophies to the Pakistan team.
