Ilminster Cricket Club picked up their ninth win in 12 games this season with victory over Temple Cloud on Saturday, July 18.

Having lost the toss and being asked to bowl, Ilminster first struck when Temple Cloud had reached 27 runs and then took three wickets by the time the home side had reached 30.

By the time 100 runs were on the board, the home side were seven wickets down, and thanks to Sam Grinter taking 4-16 and Lachlan Rice 3-30, Temple Cloud were reduced to 150 inside 47 overs.

In response, Priyank Panchal, who opened the batting, was the mainstay, hitting 46 runs off 62 balls with four fours and two sixes.

Rice backed up his bowling figures by adding 31 off 35, and Charlie Vickery was not out for 29 off 58 balls as Ilminster reached the target in the 36th over.

Ilminster are 18 points clear at the top and are at home to Frome on Saturday, July 25.
