Eagle Glebe Cricket Club has grown substantially over the past couple of years, and now boasts an adult team, two youth teams, the Eagle Cup and the Wavendon Cup.

Now, they are working to restore the cricket square at Wavendon Recreation Ground which will provide juniors a proper home ground.

The square has been unused for several years, and professional restoration is needed to bring the space back into play.

Works necessary include the levelling and relaying the wicket, soil preparation and specialist turf work, the purchase of maintenance equipment and safety and match-day setup.

The club has launched a GoFundMe to help make this happen.

"Every donation — big or small — will help us revive the pitch, support our young players, and bring cricket back to the heart of our community," said a spokesman.

"Our mission is simple: to give children, young people, and adults the chance to enjoy the joy, discipline, and community spirit that cricket brings.

"Restoring this square will give our young players a true home ground, allow us to host league matches, expand our junior programme, and bring cricket back to the heart of Wavendon."
