Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave a good start to the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2026 match against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both players started their journey in the 19th season with impressive performances against the Chennai Super Kings, amassing 52 and 38, respectively.

They maintained their form against the Titans, with the two adding 50 runs in 26 balls. Overall, Sooryavanshi and Jaiswal stitched a 70-run stand in 6.2 overs. 

Yashasvi amassed 55 runs off 36 balls, laced with 6 boundaries and 3 sixes. Vaibhav's 31 runs came in 18 deliveries, including 5 fours and 1 maximum.

They scripted a big milestone by scoring 500 runs together and joined the elite club of pairs that have posted 500 runs or more in IPL history. Among the 113 pairs that have reached the landmark of 500 for any wicket in the history of the IPL, only Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head (12.57) and Sunil Narine and Phil Salt (12.46) have better scoring rates than the Indian pair (12.02).

They are also the fastest Indian pair to reach 500 partnership runs. The duo needed just a couple of balls to achieve a special record.

Sooryavanshi and Jaiswal were three runs short before the match, with 497 runs in 246 balls to their names. They reached the new benchmark in just two deliveries.

They broke the record of Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag, who reached the milestone in 309 balls.

Earlier, Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag won the toss and elected to bat first. Gujarat Titans' skipper Shubman Gill was ruled out of the game due to muscle spasm.

Dhruv Jurel's 42-ball 75 took the score to 210/6 in the allotted 20 overs. He hit 5 fours and 5 sixes.

Kagiso Rabada took two wickets while Mohammed Siraj, Ashok Sharma, Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan dismissed one batter each.
