Gujarat Titans (GT) will be challenged by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 9th game of IPL 2026. Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, will host this game on 4th April 2026 at 7:30 PM IST.

Gujarat Titans lost their first game of this season by three wickets against the Punjab Kings thanks to an excellent knock from Cooper Connolly. They are 7th in the points table, and this will be their second match of the season. 

GT’s overdependency on their top 3 to do the bulk of the scoring is a big issue. The likes of Glenn Phillips, Washington Sundar, and Shahrukh Khan will have to take responsibility if the Titans are to do well this season. 

Prasidh Krishna (3/29) was the pick of the bowlers in the first game. Mohammed Siraj looked in good rhythm, while Kagiso Rabada and Ashok Sharma were a tad expensive. GT will have to play as a unit to give themselves any chance of qualifying for the playoffs. 

Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, are 2nd in the table with a dominating 8-wicket win over the Chennai Super Kings. Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger dominated the CSK batters from the start before Vaibhav Sooryavanshi took charge with a 15-ball fifty while chasing down 127 runs. 

RR looked pretty balanced on paper with good depth in their squad. The likes of Donovan Ferreira will add more depth and value to the squad alongside the likes of Riyan Parag, Dhurv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, Ravindra Jadeja, and the young explosive opening pair. 

Bowling-wise too, they have the pace duo of Archer and Burger complemented by Sandeep Sharma, with Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Bishnoi forming the spin department for them. Youngster Brijesh Sharma also impressed on his debut. Overall, RR are looking pretty solid as a team this season.

Ahmedabad is a very high-scoring venue. The average first innings score last season was 215 runs. There will be some help for the pacers with the new ball, especially in the second innings, and the spinners will get little to no help off the deck.

Overall, the batters will enjoy their time at the crease, and they’ll be in for a big score if they settle in quickly. Chasing sides have won 55% of the T20s played here since 2022. 

Scores in the range of 180-200 are expected in this game. The temperature will be around 30-31 degrees Celsius with no chance of rain.

• Dhurv Jurel is expected to bat at 3 this season, and it increases his fantasy value. He can play shots all around the ground and is a good player of spin bowling as well. Jurel will bat positively and can score big in this game. 

Key batter picks: 

• Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored his maiden IPL century in just 35 deliveries against the Gujarat Titans in the last edition. He is in exceptional form coming to this game, and he will fancy his chances of doing well in this game too. He’ll be an excellent captain choice.
• Yashasvi Jaiswal is another top batter for RR to pick in fantasy cricket for this game. He’s also super aggressive and can turn the game on its head when he gets going. Jaiswal played a scratchy innings in the last game, but he spent time at the crease and would be a good fantasy pick.
• Sai Sudharsan
  won the Orange Cap in IPL 2025. He scored runs in almost every game. He plays risk-free cricket and holds one end. He is good against both pace and spin. Sudharsan is one of the best batters for his team and someone you can bank on in fantasy cricket. 
• Shubman Gill looked pretty confident for his 39 runs against the Punjab Kings. He can take down any bowling unit on his day and is known for scoring big runs when he gets going. Gill is the best batter for his team and will be a top C/VC pick as well.

• Ravindra Jadeja will do the late-hitting duties and will lead RR’s spin attack. He picked up 2 wickets against CSK. Jadeja can trouble Gujarat’s middle order and will contribute with the bat and in the field too.
• Riyan Parag will bat at 4 for the Royals. He is an excellent player against spin and we all know how capable he is with the bat.

Key bowler picks: 

• Prasidh Krishna picked up 3 wickets out of nowhere in the first game. He came in as the impact sub and got to business straightaway. He bowled well in the last edition, hitting the deck hard and using variations. Krishna can trouble the Royals’ middle order with his pace and bounce.
• Jofra Archer set the tone for the Royals in the first game against CSK. He picked up 2 wickets for just 19 runs in his spell. Archer swung the new ball and bowled at an excellent pace, and he’s capable with the bat too. Try him as C/VC while bowling first.
