Cheadle new-ball duo James Sellers and Matt Goodwin made light work of Wood Lane to set up a resounding NSSCL Premier B win.

The seam stars routed visitors Wood Lane for just 60 in Saturday’s encounter.

Sellers finished with 6-24 and Goodwin picked up 4-32 to leave struggling Wood Lane stunned.

And Cheadle needed a mere 9.4 overs to wrap up a nine-wicket triumph as Matt Sellers (31no) and Sam Cliffe (21no) dealt with batting business.

The result leaves Cheadle in second place in the table, while Wood Lane are propping up the rest after a fifth defeat in six.

There were plenty of comfortable wins in the division in Saturday’s round of matches.

Alsager won by 10 wickets at home against Stone SP seconds.

Stone SP saw plenty of players make starts, but were eventually bowled out for 135 after taking first use on their road trip.

Waqas Hussain snared 4-17 for the home side, with Kashif Bhatti and Greg Phillips sharing four wickets.

The Alsager run chase was dominated by Sean Price.

He smashed 10 fours and four sixes in a 90-ball 102 not out to steer his side over the line inside 27 overs.

James Bloor was the support act for Price’s big-hitting, finishing on 27 not out.

Bagnall Norton also won by 10 wickets at home against Norton in Hales.

The visitors were dismissed for just 77 in the formative stages of the contest.

Isaac Foster’s 22, 17 from Simon Dyer and Jack Furnival’s 10 were the only noteworthy contributions.

Life was easy with the bat for Bagnall Norton in their chase as they won in just 12.5 overs.

Ashcombe Park prevailed by nine wickets away at Rode Park & Lawton.

Mark Valentine (20), Lee Evans (19) and Aiden Hulme (10) offered the primary resistance for the home side.

However, that low score was never going to cause Ashcombe Park any worries on the resumption.

They eased to the winning line in 13.2 over, fronted by Kamran Abbasi’s unbeaten half-century.

He faced just 38 balls in making 58 not out, striking seven fours and two sixes in the process.

Haroon Mahmood lent a helping hand with an unbeaten 29 to see the visitors to their target.

There were some close games in the division, not least at Knypersley where leaders Elworth made it six wins out of six as they clinched a five-run success.

The runs flowed at Tunstall Road as Elworth amassed 231-7 from their 45 overs in the formative stages of the afternoon.

Knypersley gave the chase a right good go after the interval as Bhatti took centre stage.
