New Delhi, September 11: Kashi Rudras brought their fourth season of the Uttar Pradesh T20 League to a close with another determined campaign, reaching the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year before suffering a heartbreaking one-run defeat to Noida Kings in the Eliminator.

The two-time champions, owned by Yan Consultancy, finished third in the league stage after recovering impressively from a difficult middle phase of the tournament. Kashi Rudras began the season with three wins from their first four matches but then endured a four-match losing streak.

The defending champions responded strongly when it mattered most, securing crucial victories in the latter stages before producing one of their finest performances of the campaign in their final league game. They defeated table-toppers Meerut Mavericks by 56 runs to seal their place in the playoffs in emphatic fashion.

Captain Karan Sharma once again led from the front, finishing the tournament as the Orange Cap winner with 361 runs. The skipper struck two outstanding half-centuries, including a blistering 102 off 51 balls against Noida Super Kings and 92 off 48 against Gorakhpur Lions. He also topped the tournament's six-hitting charts with 26 maximums.
Reflecting on the campaign, Kashi Rudras owner Sanjeev Garg praised the team's resilience and fighting spirit, while highlighting the emergence of the franchise's young players.

"With the way the team responded after a difficult phase in the league and finished strongly against the table-toppers, it showed the resilience within this group," Garg said.
He also pointed to Karan's Orange Cap-winning campaign and the progress of the younger members of the squad as major positives, adding that the franchise would take the lessons from the season and return with renewed determination to challenge for another title.

With the ball, Atal Bihari Rai led the attack with 15 wickets, while 19-year-old left-arm spinner Kartik Yadav enjoyed a breakthrough season with 11 wickets. His standout performance came against Meerut Mavericks, where he returned impressive figures of 3/12 in four overs to earn Player of the Match honours.

The emergence of Kartik and Sangam Singh, along with encouraging performances from Rishabh Rajput and Virat Jaiswal, offered further optimism for the franchise.

Although their title defence ended in a narrow Eliminator loss, Kashi Rudras' fourth straight playoff appearance underlined their consistency, while the rise of a promising young core could prove crucial to their ambitions in the seasons ahead.
