Kushagra Ojha and Manal Chauhan score maiden youth Test tons

Batting first, India were reduced to nothing for two wickets, losing both their openers by the sixth over, when Ojha and captain Yashbardhan Chauhan joined hands in the middle. The duo resurrected the India innings, adding 122 runs for the third wicket when the skipper fell.

Ojha, playing only his second youth Test, alongside debutant Chauhan, finished the day unbeaten, with the former having completed his maiden ton. Chauhan, meanwhile, was not out for 55, the duo having set India en route to a big total at 253-3.

Ojha could add only eight more runs to his overnight score before getting run out in the seventh over after the restart for 111. Chauhan, however, played on to complete a 150 before becoming the ninth wicket to fall, with India having crossed the 400-run mark, eventually finishing at 411. In reply, Sri Lanka lost half their wickets for 79 runs following a combined bowling effort from India. They were 122-8 in 40 overs on day two at stumps.

India replied with a massive 576, with Lakshya Raichandani notching up a double ton, whereas his opening partner Sagar Virk and wicketkeeper-batter Manav Krishna hit respective hundred. The game eventually petered out into a draw.
