Despite a poor start during the chase, as the top order struggled and wickets fell at regular intervals, Sameer Rizvi turned the game around with a composed and match-winning knock of 70 runs off 47 balls after coming in as an impact player. He was well supported by Tristan Stubbs, who contributed a valuable 39 runs. Earlier, Delhi’s bowling unit delivered a strong performance, with Lungi Ngidi and T Natarajan claiming three wickets each, while Kuldeep Yadav picked up two wickets.

On the other hand, the Mumbai Indians also made a strong start to their season, defeating the Kolkata Knight Riders by six wickets. Kolkata posted a formidable total of 220 runs batting first, but Mumbai’s top order responded brilliantly to chase down the target in the final over. Ryan Rickelton led the charge with an impressive 81, while Rohit Sharma played a crucial knock of 78 runs. Earlier in the match, Shardul Thakur delivered an effective bowling performance, taking three wickets for 39 runs in his four overs.
