Greg Willows and Oliver Horlock both hit centuries as Hucknall won run-laden clash with Rothley Park in the ECB National Championship.
Batting first, Leicestershire side Rothley posted an impressive 305-7 in their 40 overs with Vikai Kelley hitting 112 and Nathan Buck an unbeaten 76.
However, that was merely the prelude to the main event as Willows and Horlock then proceeded to put on 288 for the second wicket.
Horlock eventually fell for 132 – with 16 fours and five sixes – but Willows stayed on to finish 142no, hitting 14 fours and eight sixes, as Hucknall reached 311-2 to win by eight wickets with just under three overs to spare.
The win completed another excellent weekend for Hucknall, who maintained third place in the Nottinghamshire Premier League with a four-wicket win at Collingham & District.
Batting first, the home side were restricted to 240-9 in their 50 overs with Jacob Taylor (4-39) and Jake Wright (3-41) taking the bowling honours for Hucknall.
Liam Tew hit 58 for the hosts and there were useful contributions for Rhett Bridgens (39) and Ben Jones (31).
But the total didn’t look enough as Horlock (45) and Willows (52) offered a preview of what was to come the next day with a second-wicket stand of 67.
Ryan Buckley (70) then took up the mantle, putting on 62 for the fifth wicket with Daniel Blatherwick as Hucknall eased home at 241-6 in 48.5 overs.
Also in the Premier League, Papplewick & Linby’s woes continued with a seven-wicket defeat at Mansfield Hosiery Mills.
Batting first, Papplewick wickets fell regularly and they were 77-7 at one stage before some late runs from Dillon Singh (42) and Ewan Crofts (24) dragged them up to 151 all out.
It was never enough though, as Tharindu Amarasinghe (74) and Aman Patel (39no) ensured the hosts won easily at 154-3 with more than half their overs to spare.
