The event was attended by several ACA office-bearers including secretary Sanatan Das.

Spread across around 17,000 sq ft, the facility has nine cricket wickets — four designed for spin and five for seam — with imported Uniturf surfaces that allow players to train in varied conditions.

The facility also houses separate changing rooms for men and women, both equipped with ice baths for post-training recovery. A 1,500 sq ft gymnasium, sauna and steam room have also been added, while a dedicated physiotherapy unit will cater to rehabilitation, injury management and recovery.

“The development of modern cricket infrastructure is essential for creating the right environment for players to learn, train and progress. The new Indoor Cricket Facility at the ACA Cricket Academy brings together quality cricketing surfaces, fitness, recovery and physiotherapy facilities under one roof,” said Saikia.

The indoor facility will allow the ACA to continue training programmes irrespective of weather conditions and provide players with greater access to structured skill development and fitness work.

The facility is also expected to strengthen the academy’s player development programme by bringing cricket training, conditioning, rehabilitation and recovery under one roof.
