India played against Pakistan in Under-19 Asia Cup Final at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai. The Indian Team won the toss and opted to bowl first – a decision which did not go well in their favour as Pakistan scored a massive target of 347 runs in 50 overs. In the second innings, Indian boys could never find a momentum to handle the pressure and ultimately the batting order crumbled following which Pakistan registered a dashing win by 191 runs.

After facing a crushing defeat, India skipper Ayush Mhatre reflected on the loss and gave credit to Pakistan for playing better cricket.

“The decision was clear, they batted really well. It was an off day. They batted really well, there was some inconsistency in the line. Had an off day in the field, it happens. There was a simple plan, to bat for 50 overs. It happens. The boys played well, happy that the tournament was really good for us, there were positives, players stood up and did well.”

India faced a complete batting collapse, even skipper Ayush Mhatre was dismissed at a mere score of 2 runs by Pakistan bowler Ali Raza.

As the second innings started. Pakistani bowlers – Ali Raza, Mohammad Sayyam and Abdul Subhan built so much pressure on India that the team could never find back the momentum. Ali Raza emerged as the top bowler as he picked 4 wickets followed by Huzaifa Ahsan, Abdul Subhan and Mohammad Sayyam who took 2 wickets each.
