Speaking on a recent podcast by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Jitesh, who has been part of the high-profile league since 2022, said, “They are fearless. Because of the IPL, you have the liberty to swing the bat from the first ball. Because you have a big contract, people now see cricket as a profession, not just as a game or a sport. That has changed everything.”

Jitesh has played 16 T20 internationals for India too. His statement shows that young cricketers are changing the way they think about the game. In the past, players were more careful at the start of their careers. Now, players step in with confidence and are ready to attack from the first ball itself.

The IPL has made it possible for Indian players to play against international stars in high-stakes matches very early in their careers. This exposure has helped eliminate hesitation and build a strong sense of belonging among newcomers.

The league's financial security also helps build this fearless attitude. With lucrative contracts offering stability, players are more willing to express themselves on the field without the fear of failure holding them back.

Advancement in cricket a factor too!

This new brave attitude could also be attributed to the advancement in the game of cricket on so many fronts, and of course the embracing of it. Advanced coaching, data analysis, and regular match exposure help young players get ready better. Because of this, they know what the format requires and trust their instincts.

The impact of this mindset has already been visible in IPL 2026, with several emerging players delivering match-winning performances under pressure. Their ability to adapt quickly and play aggressively has become a defining feature of modern T20 cricket.

As the league progresses, this fearless generation will continue to redefine the game. With confidence, clarity, and freedom at the core, these young cricketers are not just participating; they are actually shaping the future of the sport.

Defending champions RCB won their opening game comfortably against Sunrisers Hyderabad last week in what was also a season opener. They next play five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday, once again at home, at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
