Katie Taylor has been ordered to fight Flora Pili for the WBC Super-Lightweight title.
The Championship is currently vacant, but it is a title that Taylor has held in the past during her stint as undisputed Super-Lightweight champion.
Despite being ordered to fight Pili, the odds of such a bout actually being made are relatively small. Just because a fighter is ordered to take on a challenger, that doesn't mean they will end up doing so.
Taylor is the current emeritus champion
For Taylor, her next bout looks set to be her final one. The Irish boxing superstar has stated that 2026 will be her final year of boxing, and she is desperate to secure a fight night at Croke Park as she looks to end her career in style.
The Bray Bomber has called for a fight at GAA HQ for years, and while negotiations were seemingly moving in the right direction, there has still yet to be any announcement regarding a bout in Dublin.
September had been mooted as a potential month for the fight to take place, but as we move through June, no announcement has been forthcoming.
And should a Croke Park bout fail to come to fruition, Taylor may hang up the gloves without ever fighting again.
"Croke Park or bust," her promoter Eddie Heard told Sky Sports. "[If] it's not happening, I think she'd go: 'I'm done.'
"I think the deflation of not getting Croke Park will lend itself to saying I surrender."
