Legendary former Kent all-rounder Darren Stevens starred as Kent League Premier Division leaders St Lawrence & Highland Court were six-wicket winners at Sevenoaks Vine on Saturday.

Stevens, 50, blasted 129 off 73 balls - a knock that included some 12 maximums - while opener Fred Sharp (87 not out) and captain Matt Hammond (53) contributed half-centuries of their own to get St Lawrence home in the 44th over.

Earlier, Bradley Hope had hit a run-a-ball 101 in Sevenoaks’ score of 294-6 from 50 overs as Stevens (2-61) claimed scalps.

Second-placed Blackheath, seven points off the summit, were five-wicket winners against basement boys Lordswood.

Wicketkeeper Max Wood (11) was the sole player in double figures during Lordswood’s 60 all out, former Kent bowler Arafat Bhuiyan (4-29) best with the ball.

In reply, Charlie-Sid Speller’s unbeaten 19 proved key for Blackheath despite Henry Dunlop (3-26) doing well.

Third-placed Hayes were consigned to a 34-run home defeat by Tunbridge Wells.

Tunbridge Wells totalled 342-7 off 50 overs, largely thanks to a 129-run partnership between Chris Williams and Alex Williams with 117 and 90, respectively, as Aaron Burrage (3-64) bowled nicely.

Will MacVicar’s 114 off 112 deliveries proved in a losing Hayes cause, with Chris Williams (3-47) and Michael Waller (3-58) among the wickets.

Bexley were nine-wicket home winners against third-bottom Minster.

Minster made 95 all out, captain David Masters (19) top scoring, while Kent’s Jas Singh returned figures of 4-31 from 10 overs.

George Haley and opener Varun Anand with 30 not out and 27 not out, respectively, got Bexley across the line inside 20 overs.

Whitstable were beaten at Bromley by five wickets.

There were half-centuries for Byron ‘Buzz’ Gould (94) and Kent all-rounder Jaydn Denly (87) in Whitstable’s 260 all out as Marcus Lilley (3-48) and Archie Ramanathan (3-75) claimed scalps.

Opener Fred Wilson’s 99 then led the successful Bromley run-chase to leave the efforts of Cameron Wilshaw (2-44) in vain.
