REDDITCH Entaco CC suffered a five-wicket defeat against Barnt Green 2nds in the relegated club’s final home fixture of the season.

The Redditch club posted 205 all out as Rizwan Chaudhry hit a century only for Barnt Green to reach 207-5 in 37.5 overs at Bromsgrove Road.

Entaco sit bottom of the Worcestershire County League Premier Division table and will finish the season in 12th place.

Redditch won the toss and elected to bat but lost Faheem Shahid (4) and Isa Zaroo (4) cheaply.

Chaudhry (102) scored almost half of Entaco’s runs while Kevin Lokenath (27), Waqas Ali (19) and Amaan Malik (14) all reached double figures.

But the home side struggled to build any meaningful partnerships as Adam Davies (4-47) starred with the ball for the visitors with Entaco all out for 205 in 43.1 overs.

Redditch took early wickets in the Barnt Green innings as Elliot Evans (0) fell for a duck while Rhys Evans (8) departed for a single-figure score.

However, opener Seth Benjamin (50) recorded a half-ton while Ben Whitton (27) and Fergus Roll (26) scored useful runs.

Thomas Ashton (60 not out) and Sam Kaye (14 not out) guided Barnt Green to victory despite the best efforts of Muhammad Adam (2-24).

Redditch finish the campaign with a trip to Ombersley 2nds on Saturday, September 12 with play to begin at 11.30am at Main Road.
