The Cabinet has approved a 100 billion rupee Aviation Turbine Fuel Price Stabilisation Fund to help airlines manage the impact of rising global fuel prices. The government has also capped domestic jet fuel prices at 75.6 rupees per litre to reduce pressure on the aviation sector and protect passengers from sharp fare increases.

In Karnataka, senior Congress leader Doddalahalli Kempegowda Shivakumar was sworn in as the state's 25th Chief Minister. Gangadharaiah Parameshwara took oath as Deputy Chief Minister, while 12 other ministers joined the new cabinet.

Meanwhile, in West Bengal, expelled Trinamool Congress legislator Ritabrata Banerjee was recognised as Leader of the Opposition after receiving the support of 60 legislators. He reaffirmed his loyalty to Mamata Banerjee and denied any plans to split the party.
