Yorkshire 1 for 0 trail Glamorgan 302 (Ingram 103, Kellaway 52, Crane 51, White 3-40, Bess 3-42) by 301 runs

Colin Ingram resumed his prolific form with a stabilising century to steer Glamorgan to a solid first-innings total on their return to Rothesay County Championship Division One. Ingram's patient 103 took Glamorgan to 302 all out, before bad light ruled out the final 15 full overs of the extended day's play.

After a century partnership with Ben Kellaway, Ingram and Chris Cooke added another useful stand as Glamorgan recovered from 28 for 4 on the opening day. Mason Crane's half-century, together with Timm van der Gugten's 40, supported the hosts on a slow-burn day of red-ball cricket.

Dom Bess, who stood in as Yorkshire captain all day with Jonny Bairstow off the field with a finger injury, bowled with control to end with 3 for 42 after the seamers dominated initially.

At 99 for 4, Glamorgan came out in the sunshine aware of how the pitch had eased the evening prior. Kellaway and Ingram had put on 71 for the fifth wicket but still had a large amount of work to do.

The 22-year-old Kellaway eased the second ball of the day from Ben Coad through the covers to display positive intent on a pitch with no demons evident. A half-century shortly followed, as it did for Ingram, who brought up the century partnership with it. But Bess' first over of the day found the breakthrough with early signs of spin, flighting one to turn through the gate of Kellaway.

Cooke joined Ingram, with combined age of 79, and their experience showed. It was Glamorgan's morning, even more so when Adam Lyth dropped his first of two catches in the day on the last ball of the session, Cooke edging Bess to slip.

A rare five set Ingram on his way to a well-made century early in the second session before he edged behind against the second new ball. The innings pace went from positively slow to barely ticking as Glamorgan notched their first batting point - but they did not venture after a second as Bess and Matthew Revis chipped away.

Logan van Beek helped remove Andy Gorvin with a remarkable one-handed catch at fine-leg, giving George Hill a well-deserved first wicket for the season, before Crane was last man out.

With 17 overs left to bat Yorkshire were halted midway through debutant Ryan Hadley's fiery opening over amid signs for bad light. The teams will return on day three with plenty needed to gain a result.
