They defeated Chorley at Marshfield to revive hopes for progress in the rest of the season.

After a steady start from Will Davidson (28) and John Davidson (17), the home crowd watched a game-changing third-wicket stand of 74 between returning players Zane Nirodi and Gautam Waghela.

Waghela dominated the innings, scoring 148 off 122 balls, including fifteen fours and five sixes.

This was Settle’s highest individual total in eight years.

The team finished on 295-6.

Chorley reached 82 for the second wicket, but Harry Snowden (4-28) and Will Davidson (3-36) turned the match in Settle’s favour.

Chorley were all out for 166 with ten overs to spare.

Settle’s second team also enjoyed success, reaching the semi-finals of the Westmorland League 40-over Cup.

Seb Woods (52), John Tarbox (26), and Shaun Airey (23) helped Settle to 142-8 against Holme.

Captain Nick Cokell took 3-20, with two wickets each for Tarbox and Jack Caton.

Settle won the match by 22 runs to secure their place in the final four.
