U-19 Asia Cup final: Pakistan set daunting 348-run target for India
Yet another India–Pakistan final promises a thrilling, nerve-racking contest after Pakistan Under-19 posted a daunting 347/8 against India in the U-19 Asia Cup final at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai on Sunday.
Asked to bat first, Pakistan produced a vastly improved batting display compared to their group-stage loss to India. Their batters found rhythm early, keeping the scoreboard moving as the Indian bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs.
Sameer Minhas anchored the innings with a superb 172 off 113 balls, smashing 17 fours and nine sixes. He received solid support from Ahmed Hussain (56) and Usman Khan (35).
India clawed back after the top-order dismissals in the final 10 overs. Niqab Shafiq and Mohammad Sayyam added only 20 runs in the final four overs. Pakistan eventually finished on 347/8.
