Exciting Volleyball Tournament Concludes in Ramban
Ramban (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], February 14: The 84 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) successfully hosted the Shaheed Mushtaq Ahmed Memorial Volleyball Tournament 2026 in Chanderkote. This thrilling event kicked off on February 5, 2026, featuring eight teams from the Ramban district.
On February 13, the final match took place at the Tactical Headquarters of the 84 Bn CRPF, organized under the Jammu Sector CRPF, showcasing remarkable enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The Chenab Warriors Chanderkote claimed the championship title.
The closing ceremony was attended by Chief Guest SSP Ramban Arun Gupta, along with Commandant of CRPF 84 Bn N. Ranbir Singh, Second-in-Command Vikram Singh, Second-in-Command Arvind Kumar Dixit, and Assistant Commandants Roop Ram Meena and Rupesh Kumar, alongside families of the 84 Bn CRPF, local youth, and players.
Tributes were paid to Mushtaq Ahmed, honoring his ultimate sacrifice for the country. The final match featured an exhilarating showdown between Chenab Warriors Chanderkote and Friends Volleyball Club Chanderkote, attracting a large crowd of sports enthusiasts. The Chenab Warriors triumphed, winning in straight sets with scores of 25-19, 25-20, and 25-20.
During the event, Commandant Ranbir Singh emphasized the CRPF's rich legacy and its contributions to nation-building. He urged the youth to engage in sports for their physical and mental well-being, promoting discipline, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle, while promising to continue organizing such events to foster community connections.
SSP Ramban Arun Gupta commended the 84 Bn CRPF for their initiative to honor the martyr and stressed the significance of sports in positively directing the energy of the youth. He assured the martyr's family of all necessary support.
Winners and runners-up received trophies, medals, certificates, volleyballs, and nets. Additionally, a shawl and a memento were presented to Veer Nari Rubina Begum. The event also featured a cultural program to celebrate the occasion.
