The agreement brings together two of Burnley's longest-established names. Burnley Cricket Club has played at Turf Moor since 1843, while Haffner's has been serving the town since 1889, when George Kristian Haffner opened his first pork butcher's shop on Yorkshire Street.

Under the deal, the venue will officially be known as Haffner's Turf Moor, or The Haffner's Turf Moor Cricket Ground.

The ground will now be called Haffner's Turf Moor, or The Haffner's Turf Moor Cricket Ground.

Dave Lawson, hairman of Burnley Cricket Club, said: "Haffner's is one of those names that is simply part of what Burnley is. Everyone in this town knows them, everyone has grown up with their pies. Having their name on our ground feels right. It is two Burnley institutions backing each other, and we are proud to have them with us."

Ted Cockett, Co-Owner of Haffner's, said: "Burnley Cricket Club has been at the heart of this town for nearly 200 years. When the opportunity came to put the Haffner's name on that ground, it was not a difficult decision. We are a Burnley business and we want to back Burnley. You do not find a bigger part of this town's sporting and community life than this club."

The partnership will support the club across all areas of its activity, including the 1st XI, women's section, junior teams and community programmes.

Haffner's, now run by brothers Dean and Ted Cockett, has been a fixture of Burnley life for 136 years. The family butchers and pie makers continue to operate from their bakery on Marlborough Street and shop on Keirby Walk.

The announcement comes during a successful period for Burnley Cricket Club. The club claimed the Lancashire League title in 2024, its 19th championship overall and fifth in nine seasons.

Away from the first team, the club's junior section continues to flourish, producing county and league representatives and helping develop the next generation of players.

Among the club's most famous products is England cricket legend Sir James Anderson, who learned his craft at Burnley CC before going on to become England's leading wicket-taker.

The club says the new partnership brings together two organisations with deep roots in Burnley and a shared commitment to the local community.
