North Runcton Cricket Club is preparing for one of the highlights of its calendar with the return of Cricket Week 2026, running from July 30 to August 9.

The 10-day festival promises a packed programme of cricket, community events and fundraising activities, bringing players and supporters together at the club’s ground.

The action begins on July 30 with an Under-13s Rockets match, allowing the club’s young players to showcase their talent.

A Golf Day follows on July 31, providing a social and fundraising element ahead of a busy schedule of cricket fixtures.

On August 1, North Runcton’s 2nd XI will take on Swaffham in what is expected to be a competitive encounter. The following day, attention turns to the women’s game with the Women’s Softball Final, highlighting the continued growth of female cricket within the region.

One of the week’s centrepiece events is the annual 8:56 Charity Match on August 3.

The fixture is expected to attract strong support while raising money and awareness for charitable causes, continuing a tradition that has become an important part of the club’s cricket week celebrations.

The club’s junior section will again be in the spotlight on August 4 when the Squirrels team takes to the field.

Two days later, on August 6, North Runcton’s Under-19 side will represent the club in another key youth fixture.

Women’s cricket returns to the programme on August 7 when North Runcton Women’s XI face an Under-13s side in what promises to be an entertaining contest.

The following day, the club’s first team hosts Hethersett in the Norfolk Alliance Premier Division in what will be overseas ace Odirile Modimokoane's final appearance for the team before he returns to his parent club.

Cricket Week concludes on August 9 with a prestigious clash between the President’s XI and the Alliance Select XI.

The match is expected to provide a fitting finale to the celebrations and attract a large crowd of members, former players and visitors.

Organisers are looking forward to welcoming supporters throughout the week, which combines competitive cricket, family-friendly events and community spirit.
