Plans lodged to upgrade cricket facilities in Horsford
Horsford Cricket Club plans to install new practice nets at the site off Holt Road.
The new equipment would support players developing batting and bowling skills in a contained training area.
Plans for the nets have been submitted to Broadland District Council.
The club was established by four local friends, led by first captain Don Raynor, and initially played friendly matches on land near its current Manor Park home.

The club entered competitive league cricket in 1976 and enjoyed immediate success, winning the Norfolk League title in 1977 and 1978 before securing a third successive championship in 1979.
After a temporary move during ground improvement works, Horsford returned to Manor Park in 1980, when a new pavilion was opened by former England rugby international Dickie Jeeps.
Manor Park later became one of the county's leading cricket venues, serving as the home of Norfolk County Cricket Club from 2001 to 2024.
Today, Horsford Cricket Club runs men, women and junior teams and competes in the East Anglian Premier Cricket League, with players from across the Norwich area using its facilities.
