New Zealand duo rescue side from 3-3 with national-record fourth-wicket partnership in South Africa series finale win
A massive partnership between Maddy Green and Brooke Halliday helped New Zealand clinch the ODI series against South Africa.

With all to play for, Laura Wolvaardt won the toss and opted to field in the series decider. New Zealand were left reeling at 3-3 as Ayanda Hlubi (2-47) and Tumi Sekhukhune (2-57) struck thrice in the first 19 balls, including Sekhukhune removing Kerr on the first ball.
But none of that deterred Green or Halliday, who put on 211 for the fourth wicket to set a national record, eclipsing the unbroken 172 set by Amy Satterthwaite and Kerr in 2021 by some distance. It was also the third-highest fourth-wicket stand of all time in women’s ODIs.
Green continued after Halliday fell for a 124-ball 98 (13 fours), eventually finishing on 141 not out in 128 balls with 15 fours to help New Zealand reach 306-7.
Wolvaardt (69 in 68) led South Africa’s response, helping them reach 145-1 in the 26th over before they collapsed to 240, with Rosemary Mair returning figures of 5-50.
