Nitish Rana run out video: Bumrah pulls off sharp direct hit to run out Rana
Delhi Capitals made a brisk start to their chase, but a costly mix-up cut short the momentum as Nitish Rana was run out in unfortunate fashion. At 39/2 after five overs, DC looked in control before the mishap injected sudden drama into the contest.
The incident unfolded in the second over when Jasprit Bumrah delivered a slower ball outside off. Rana nudged it towards mid-wicket and initially set off for a quick single, but hesitation midway proved fatal. His partner Pathum Nissanka had already committed and was well down the pitch, leaving Rana stranded.
Bumrah reacted swiftly, moving to his left to collect the ball before unleashing a direct hit at the bowler’s end in one smooth motion. Despite a desperate dive, Rana was well short of his crease. Replays later suggested that even without the stutter, he may have struggled to make his ground.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians posted a competitive 162/6, powered by a composed 51 off 36 balls from stand-in captain Suryakumar Yadav. Rohit Sharma provided a solid start with 35, but Delhi’s bowlers ensured the total remained within reach. Mukesh Kumar struck twice early, while Axar Patel impressed with a tight spell and the key wicket of Rohit. Lungi Ngidi and T Natarajan also chipped in to keep things under control at the death.
