Hemel cricket club have five teams relegated this season
Congrats to the Saturday 2nd XI for staying up.
HHTCC 1st XI - Championship vs Sawbridgeworth (H)
Sawbo. already guaranteed a place in a play off with the 9th placed side in the Premier division but no favours on offer from struggling for survival in Championship Hemel.
Sawbo. won toss and batted first making 250 all out in 49.1 overs.
Although the emphasis has been on bringing younger players through during the season it was the 'old' brigade who led the bowling with Nick Hodgins returning 3 - 44, Brett Penny 2 - 34 and Darren James 2 - 47.
From a short bowl Parth Mehta also took 2 - 31.
The youth did come through with the batting and U-15 Fin Clark top scoring with 33.
Aussie Oliver Clark made 31 but that was as good as it got with Hemel bowled out for 130 to lose by 120 runs.
Hemel finished up 9th in division, Sawbo. 2nd.
HHTCC 2nd XI - Div.3A vs Bushey 1st XI (A)
Mid-table clash to finish off season where Bushey's home advantage came to the fore.
Putting Hemel in to bat they bowled them out for 143 with Ishaq Ismael taking 5 - 18 from his 10 overs.
Aaron Wilson opened the batting and top scored with 42 with Mike Samuels (24) and Tom Waterton (22) the other batsmen into the 20's.
Bushey then saw their way to 146 - 4 from 29.4 overs with Arsalan Abbassi making 51*.
Couple of wickets each for Stan Hayden (2 - 38) and Drew Butler (2 - 9).
Hemel end up in 5th place in the division, Bushey not quite there in 6th.
One might be struggling to avoid relegation after promotion last year but the last thing you want is your last game to be against the league leaders and ultimate division champions as Hemel faced.
But they gave them a good game.
Put in by Old E's Hemel made 193 in 45 overs, largely thanks to youngster Tyler James coming in at no.8 and scoring 72 from 53 balls, aided by another youngster Jonah Lewis hitting 32 from no.10.
Hemel made a competitive score.
Old E's got a couple of 50's at the top of their order but Jimmy Smart (2 - 37) got rid of them and Farhan Sadiq waded in with 3 - 54.
But the old adage of just not enough runs came true as Old E's crept over the line with 195 - 7.
Old E's win the division and Hemel are relegated in 9th.
HHTCC 4th XI - Div.8 West vs Bekhamsted 3rd XI (A)
A bit of a drubbing for already relegated Hemel 4ths as Berko. skipper Chris Fleming scored 102 opening and fellow opener Jacob Lewarne (98) put on 200 for the Berko. first wicket.
No way back for Hemel from there as Berko. saw their way to 262 - 3 from their 40 overs.
Tony Linfoot, skippering for the day, made 34 and Adil Ahmed (17), Sham Akhtar (16) and Arjan Saini (11) made it into double figures but Hemel were bowled out for 116 in 33.4 overs to remain in 10th and bottom place.
Berko. ended up 7th in division.
No escaping the doom and gloom, club had to make do with Karaoke night to see out the season.
