Jozi Cup ignites the winter season
Jozi Cup continues to grow the local community cricket clubs and inspires more to grow.
Driven by community passion and purpose, the Jozi Cup’s impact extends far beyond the boundary. The fifth edition of South Africa’s largest T20 winter club cricket competition commenced on May 10, and it is hosting an excess of 2 000 players.
Established to strengthen and sustain community club cricket, the Jozi Cup plays a vital role in the Lions Cricket development pathway.
On May 31 at Hyde Park High School, three games took place with the U11 players showing off their talent and skills. Game 1 for the day was between the Exaze Sandton Tigers Azure vs Zoo Lake Leopards, game 2 was Exaze Sandton Tigers Azure vs Old Lions, and the last game for the day was Zoo Lake Leopards vs Old Lions.
Jozi Cup tournament director Reuben Mandlazi said, “The Jozi Cup is more than just a competition, it is a celebration of development, diversity and opportunity.”
