At School Lane, the 1st XI secured a crucial 25-point win over Orsett & Thurrock.

After slipping to 89-5, Upminster recovered thanks to a superb sixth-wicket partnership between Kiran Kullar and skipper Aaron Beard.

Beard struck 60 from 50 balls, while Kullar went on to make exactly 100 from 119 deliveries.

Callum Berry then added an unbeaten 39 as Upminster were bowled out for 264.

Orsett never seriously threatened in reply.

JJ Smuts starred with the ball, taking 6-25, while Nehal Butt claimed 3-19 as the visitors were dismissed for 116.

Ben Prophet top-scored with 38 before Smuts wrapped up the victory.

The 2nd XI continued their climb up the table with a dominant nine-wicket victory over Billericay at Upminster Park.

Billericay were bowled out for 168, despite 66 from Oscar Harmer.

Ollie Burley took 3-67, while John Curtis and Jamie Green both picked up two wickets.

In reply, Harry Jenkins and Aki Rahman took complete control after the early loss of Mit Shah.

Jenkins finished unbeaten on 92 and Rahman on 63 as Upminster cruised home in just 21 overs.

The 3rd XI collected 25 points with a victory at Woodford Wells.

Michael Pedrick continued his excellent season with 93, sharing a partnership of 126 with Ross Taylor, who made 56, as Upminster posted 224.

Mark D'Cruz then claimed 4-33 to put the visitors in control before Finley Tolan took 3-25 as Wells were bowled out for 186.

Hasan Mohsin made 40 and Sam Bardon was unbeaten on 79 for the home side.

The 4th XI maintained their push for promotion with a crushing 10-wicket win over Hadleigh & Thundersley.

Hadleigh looked well placed at 149-3 after half-centuries from Toby Spreadborough and Zain Ali, but Upminster's bowlers fought back to dismiss them for 162.

Captain Matt Ingleson and 13-year-old William Peck then made light work of the chase.

Both finished unbeaten, Ingleson on 71 and Peck on 63, sealing victory without losing a wicket.

The 5th XI suffered a narrow four-run defeat at Hornchurch Athletic 3s.

Chasing 215, Upminster slipped to 61-5 before Stew Hammond (48), Ewan Lowrie (55) and Harry Bradford (37 not out) led a spirited recovery.

Fourteen were required from the final over, but Upminster fell just short.

The 6th XI strengthened their title challenge with victory over Hutton.

Half-centuries from Thomas Brabin (54) and Matt McCarthy (52) helped Upminster reach 243-6, while Oscar Sousanna claimed 5-36 as Hutton were dismissed for 159 despite contributions from Tom Reel (72) and Dan Latham (59 not out).

The 7th XI were beaten by 26 runs by Great Totham.

Chasing 221, Upminster looked out of contention at 60-7 before Ralph Moore (51) and Jack Butler (40) launched a recovery.

Don Triggs and Kevin Roome added 22 for the final wicket, but the target proved beyond reach.

There was also defeat for the Friendly XI despite Kevin McNeela's 57.

Herongate & Ingrave made 217, with Max Beckley taking 3-31, before Upminster were bowled out for 191 in reply.

Sunday brought mixed fortunes.

The 1st XI's run in the Essex League T20 ended with a semi-final defeat to Loughton at Billericay.

Max Carter-Miller (4-21), Ollie Burley (3-21) and JJ Smuts helped restrict Loughton to 126.

However, Upminster struggled in reply, slipping to 48-5.

Aaron Beard made 21 and Ian Russell 18, but the innings closed on 99-8 as Loughton won by 26 runs.

The Matchplay XI also saw their competition hopes ended after a heavy defeat to Shenfield in the Trevor Bailey Matchplay Shield.

Shenfield piled up 302 after Yash Mahindroo made 88 and William Ovenden 99, although Ewan Lowrie impressed with figures of 5-53.

Upminster never recovered after losing early wickets and were bowled out for 115, with Lowrie again leading the resistance with 41.

The Women's 1st XI remain firmly in the Essex Women's Premier League Division One title race after a comprehensive victory at Woodford Wells.

Kiwi star Emma Black struck a brilliant 105 from 81 balls in an opening partnership of 194 with Harri Goodey, who made 74.

Upminster eventually posted 282-7.

Woodford Wells never recovered after falling to 44-5 and were bowled out for 69.

Paige Roche claimed three wickets, while Goodey and Jami Armes both made important contributions with the ball.

The Sunday League XI also stayed in contention at the top of their division with a five-wicket win over London Desperados.

Shrey Shah produced outstanding figures of 5-17 as Desperados were dismissed for 142.

Matthew Ingleson anchored the chase with 48 before Thomas Cargill and captain Michael Pedrick guided Upminster home.

There was also a busy programme of junior fixtures.

The U11 Girls recorded two victories, while the U12 Ultras and U12 Ultimate also won.

Defeats came for the U8 Ultras, U9 Ultimate, U13 Ultimate and U15 Ultimate.
